Circuit RK1 – The heart of the Flaeming-Skate
You’re not afraid of long routes? Do you want to find out? Then try out the RK1! You can complete its almost 100 kilometres as a sporting day trip or in several stages – on skates or by bike. Most of the RK1 is 3 metres wide and covered with the finest asphalt – so you can skate almost effortlessly!
The RK1 circuit has long and straight sections where you can easily find your feet if you are a beginner or have younger children with you. If you are a proficient skater, you’ll be in your element on the upward and downward slopes and in the Jüterbog Skate Arena – provided you have skating experience and the appropriate safety gear.
You’ll find everything the tourist heart desires in the towns and villages along the RK1 circuit. There are cosy restaurants, quaint beer gardens and accommodation to suit every purse as well as places you can hire skates and bikes or get them repaired. There are many reminders of ancient as well as more contemporary history bordering the RK1 and its turn-offs. Don’t forget to take a look at the medieval towns of Jüterbog and Dahme or Kloster Zinna! Make a detour to the fishing village of Mellensee or Johannismühle Wildlife Park with its arctic wolves and brown bears! Visit the museum village of Glashütte near Baruth or the water mill in Wildau-Wentdorf! Plan a pit stop at the go-karting track in Altes Lager! Let yourself unwind at the swimming pools and lakes! Experience traditional crafts in the mills of the region, taste bread fresh out of the village oven in Ließen and Seehausen or enjoy delicious Fläming specialities!
If you don’t want to go off on your own, join a guided walk or skating tour in Niedergörsdorf or from Ließen or Petkus. If you’re romantically inclined, you’ll be in your element on a ‘Skating by Moonlight’ tour along the circuit.
